Welcome to my e-folio! Throughout my site, I will share with you both my academic and professional experiences in the public health field. As a graduate student attending San Francisco State University Masters of Public Health Program, I have been able to utilize the program's various core competencies and skills to further my goals in working along side communities of color to fight for social justice.
As a public health practitioner for several years, much of my work has been directed at preventative practices. Recognizing that prevention is more than education, I have worked extensively on both individually focused health education approaches as well as systems approaches that help to shape norms and improve the health and safety of individuals. My efforts in preventing both unintentional and intentional injuries to women and children, has enabled me to coordinate programs, implement new projects, and work closely with community residents living in Contra Costa County.
